The Entomology & Nematology Student Organization is getting off to a great start this Fall semester. The major goal of the organization is to help create a graduate student community within our department. This is accomplished by providing opportunities for graduate students to socialize outside of their labs and classes. Numerous social activities have already been planned; weekly volleyball games, bug movie nights, the fall picnic, and a Halloween costume party, just to name a few. Members may also participate in other departmental activities like the departmental softball tea, Linnaean team, Toastmasters, Spanish lunch, and the organization of the departmental seminar series.
ENSO is also planning for a fund raising table at the next ESA meeting. ENSO's highly popular 'butterflies of love' tee shirts will be marketed to a larger 'bug-loving' audience at the ESA meeting. ENSO also provides assistance with tour groups and other departmental outreach activities. This student organization relies heavily on student support and interest to carry out these and other service and social projects. We welcome all new and continuing students to join us for an activity filled year. |
